Despite body mists and perfumes are both classified as fragrances, they are not the same.
The biggest difference between the two, according to perfumer Mandy Aftel, is their smell intensities.

The body mist is a light fragrance mist that is designed to be sprayed on the body.
It has a milder aroma than typical perfumes and is designed to be used in a layering effect with other items such as lotions, shower gels, and body creams.
