Butterfly Popcorn Kernels - The perfect kernels for light, fluffy, and crispy popcorn! These butterfly-shaped kernels expand into airy, delicate pieces that are full of crunch and flavour. When popped, they create a large, irregular shape that's perfect for snacking.
Stove Top Popping Instructions:
Heat the Oil: In a large pot, add 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (or your preferred oil) and heat it over medium-high heat.
Test the Oil: Drop 2-3 kernels into the pot and cover. Once they pop, the oil is ready for the rest.
Add the Kernels: Add 1/2 cup of butterfly popcorn kernels to the pot, spreading them evenly. Cover with a lid, leaving a small gap for steam to escape.
Shake the Pot: Once the kernels start popping, gently shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping and prevent burning.
Listen for the Pop: When the popping slows down to about 2-3 seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat.
Season and Serve: Carefully remove the lid, and your freshly popped butterfly popcorn is ready! Add your favourite seasoning, such as melted butter, salt, or even a sprinkle of cheese, and enjoy.
