Care & Use Instructions for Your Dutch Oven
Before First Use:
- Wash the Dutch oven with warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly.
- No seasoning is required, as the enamel-coated surface is ready for use.
Cooking Guidelines:
- Always use oven mitts or potholders when handling the pot, as both the lid and handles can become extremely hot.
- Cook on low to medium heat to ensure even cooking and to preserve the enamel coating.
- Avoid using metal utensils, which may scratch or damage the enamel surface.
- Do not place the Dutch oven directly on open flames or extremely hot surfaces like hotplates.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- After each use, clean with warm water and mild detergent using a soft sponge or brush.
- Thoroughly dry after washing to prevent rust, particularly on exposed cast iron edges.
- Avoid harsh cleaners, metal scouring pads, and strong dishwashing detergents, as these can damage the enamel finish.
