Please note this is not a wireless device. The baby unit must be plugged into mains. The parent unit should also be plugged into mains, although it can be battery powered for a short period of time, should you experience a power outage.

How to Get the Most from Your BY 33 Baby Monitor

You can increase the range of the baby monitor by positioning the baby unit as high up as possible near a door or window and ensuring that the batteries are not too weak.

Other radio waves may interfere with the transmission of the baby monitor, therefore, do not position the baby monitor near devices such as microwaves, WLAN, etc.

The following other factors can interfere with the baby monitor's transmission or shorten its range: covering the units, furniture, walls, houses, trees, environmental factors (such as fog, rain).

Use of the Baby Unit (operation via mains only):

Position the baby unit so that it is in an elevated position and is not in proximity to any other devices that may cause interference.

The device automatically switches on once connected to mains. The power LED will light up green.

To switch the device off, press the ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds or unplug the mains part. The power LED will go out.

To switch the device on again press the ON/OFF button for approximately 2 seconds.

Use of the Parent Unit (operation via mains and battery):

Set up the parent unit in the room where you are going to be.

Plug the parent unit, including the battery into mains.

To ensure optimal safety, the parent unit is designed so that it can only be operated with the batteries inserted, in case of a power failure.

The battery must be charged for at least 16 hours before the device can be first used independently of the mains; you may use the device during this period.

If the mains part plug is unplugged, the device will switch to battery operation. The standby time will however depend on the battery charge status.

Once plugged into mains, the device automatically switches on and the power LED will light up green.

To switch the device off press the button for approximately 2 seconds. The power LED will go out.

If there is no connection between the devices (baby unit not switched on or out of range), an acoustic warning will sound on the parent unit.

If the parent unit battery is low the unit will beep twice.

If the device is not connected to a socket once the battery is low, the parent unit will switch off automatically after a short period and the power LED will go out.
