The BMT Ethernet Shield W5100 R3 allows your Arduino UNO or Mega 2560 to connect to the internet via RJ45 Ethernet, opening up possibilities for IoT, networked projects, and data logging. Built around the Wiznet W5100 Ethernet chip, it supports TCP and UDP protocols and allows up to four simultaneous socket connections.
This R3 revision exposes extra pins (SCL, SDA, IOREF) for compatibility with newer Arduino boards and features a micro-SD card slot for storing files that can be served over the network. A built-in reset controller ensures the W5100 module resets properly on power-up, avoiding manual resets required in earlier versions. The shield also includes a reset button for both the Ethernet module and Arduino.
Ideal for networked applications, IoT projects, or web-connected Arduino experiments, this shield works seamlessly with the Ethernet and SD libraries for easy programming.
