Suitable for:

Opel Corsa D 1.4

Engine: A14XER only

Material: Rubber

The coolant overflow pipe (or hose) on a vehicle connects the radiator to the coolant overflow tank (also known as an expansion tank).

It's a crucial part of the cooling system, allowing excess coolant to be safely stored when the engine is hot and expanding.

It also allows coolant to return to the radiator as it cools down.

How it works:

1. 1. Engine Hot: As the engine heats up, the coolant expands. If the pressure in the radiator exceeds the radiator cap's pressure rating, excess coolant is forced through the overflow pipe into the overflow tank.

2. 2. Engine Cooling: When the engine cools down, the coolant contracts. The vacuum created in the radiator draws coolant back from the overflow tank, preventing the system from going dry.

3. 3. Preventing Overpressure: The overflow tank provides a safe place for the coolant to expand, preventing the cooling system from experiencing dangerous overpressure.
