With the Daiwa Saltist 13'6" Medium Spinning rod, the biggest influence on its performance is of course the material. Daiwa have pushed and refined the resin-to-carbon volumes and importantly, the performance of the different densities of carbon being used. By increasing the volume of fibre and reducing the amount of resin, the result can only be describe as “more muscle, less fat”. The route to a finer rod, is “High-volume Fibre” (HVF) that combines lowered volumes of resin to reduce weight with an increased amount of carbon to deliver more strength.
