The coloured tablet absorbs the moisture in the container to dry the hearing aid in order to prevent long term damage to the hearing aid. When new, the tablet has an orange colour which fades with use. When the tablet is white, it means that it needs replacing. Under normal conditions, a single tablet could last 4 to 6 weeks. The duration of each tablet will depend on the use and the environmental humidity. In the box there are four tablets, making this a very simple and economical way to protect your investment in your Personal Listening Device. Ideally the container in which you dry the Personal Listening Device (usually overnight) must be air tight and as small as possible where the hearing aid fits in comfortable. On this platform, the desiccant holder (container) is also sold separately or with extra tablets. This holder also has a separate section like a little basket in which you put the hearing aid. It is easily removed to handle the hearing aid. Below this basket, the tablet is placed.
There are four tablets in each box of desiccant tablets, ensuring that you will have dry hearing aids for a considerable time.
The accompanying jar is made to be used with the desiccant tablets. It consists of an air tight jar with a transparent insert in which to put the hearing device to be dried. The insert allows circulation of air in the jar while making it very easy to remove the hearing device after drying. The hearing device does not make direct contact with the desiccant tablet in this way. The jar is to be kept sealed in order to prolong the life of the desiccant tablet.
The jar can be used indefinitely if so desired, replacing the tablets when spent. The tablets can be acquired separately on this platform too.
