LATEST DESIGN - SWITCH LOCATOR BACKLIGHT CAN BE TURNED OFF
Unlike many standard smart switches, the latest ES Smart design allows you to switch off the locator backlight through the app. This is ideal for bedrooms or other areas where the switch light may be too bright at night, disturb your sleep or simply bother you in a dark room.
LIVE & NEUTRAL OR NO NEUTRAL INSTALLATION
The ES Smart switch supports both Live & Neutral and Live Only / No Neutral installations.
For the best and preferred installation, we recommend running a Neutral wire to the switch wherever possible.
Where it is not practical or possible to run a Neutral wire, the switch can be installed using the included capacitor with a compatible lighting circuit.
IMPORTANT - CAPACITOR & LIGHT COMPATIBILITY
The included capacitor is compatible with most lights, allowing the switch to operate without a Neutral wire in many installations.
However, due to differences between LED drivers, lamps and lighting circuits, there are certain lights that may not be fully compatible with capacitor-based No Neutral operation. In some installations this may cause the light to flicker, glow faintly when switched off, or operate inconsistently.
If flickering or other compatibility issues occur when using the capacitor, a Neutral wire will need to be run to the switch and the switch should be connected using Live & Neutral.
For this reason, Live & Neutral remains our preferred installation method whenever a Neutral wire can be provided.
