Filtershop Granular Silver Nano External Fridge Filter

The Filtershop Nano Silver particles in this filter prevent bacteria from growing out of control on the Carbon inside the filter. This has a few advantages, firstly you don't have the effect of getting more and more bacteria over time from the bacteria sitting in the filter and multiplying. (this does happen with normal fridge filters and is the main reason why you need to replace them every 6 months.) The second advantage is that for most people the lower bacteria levels mean that you can keep the filter for 12 months. The filter does however not function as a barrier for bacteria. This filter replaces the normal Generic External Fridge Filter.
Silver Nano Fridge Filter versus Granular Silver Nano Fridge Filter
Please note that the main difference between the Granular Silver Nano Fridge Filter, and the Silver Nano Fridge Filter (https://filtershop.co.za/en/inline-post-silver-nano-activated-fridge-filter), is that the Silver Nano Fridge Filter has a solid "block" of activated carbon inside it, which helps to reduce the amount of carbon dust produced by the filter. Whereas the Granular Silver Nano Filter has loose granules of carbon and silver, which means that a lot more dust is produced by the filter when first installed. This means that the granular silver nano fridge filter does need to be flushed for longer than the Silver Nano Carbon Filter.
Other than this, both filters perform identical filtration and will produce similar water. Also, both filters have a 12-monthx life span on municipal source waters.
