Spread evenly on the surface and allow the wood to absorb the oil
This should be re-applied every 4 to 6 weeks for best results
Key Steps and Tips:
- Preparation: Ensure the wood is dry, clean, and sanded (if necessary). Work in a well-ventilated area, wearing gloves and an apron.
- Application: Apply the oil liberally, working in small sections following the grain.
- Absorption & Removal: Let the oil soak in for 15-20 minutes. Crucially, wipe off all excess oil with a clean cloth, as failing to do so will result in a sticky surface.
- Drying: Allow the first coat to dry for 12-24 hours before applying additional coats or using the furniture.
- Safety: Lay used, oily rags flat to dry outdoors overnight before disposal, as they can spontaneously combust.
