Moroccan black soap is traditionally known as Alata Samina.
It's traditionally made from plantain skins, cocoa pods, palm oil, coconut oil, and shea butter. It's quite different from Moroccan black soap.
Common uses:
- Face and body cleansing
- Removing excess oil and dirt
- Helping with rough or uneven-feeling skin
- Often used by people with oily or acne-prone skin
Be careful: authentic black soap can be quite alkaline and drying, especially if used daily. Start 2-3 times a week, rinse well, and moisturize afterward. For your face, a gentler formulation may be better if you have sensitive skin.
