Himalayan Salt Lamps are amazing! Hygroscopic properties detoxify air environment. The heated rock generates negative ions. (LED salt lamps will not!) The frequency of light is quite simply healing - it is the same hue as a sunrise/sunset / or a camp fire. Red hue-measure will vary per rock.

Scuffing may be wiped off with a wet cloth (The salt is soluble).
In very moist weather conditions, the hygroscopic nature will draw in moisture to the surface of the lamp - place a tray of sorts under the lamp on those days.
If you don't care for a heated rock, the bulb may be replaced by an LED 'pygmy' fitting type. Lower watts are better.
