The HKD PWM DC Motor Speed Controller is a compact and efficient module designed to control the speed and direction of DC motors using Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM). This controller supports DC input voltages from 6V to 28V and can handle motors drawing up to 3A of current, making it suitable for small to medium DC motor applications in automation, DIY electronics, and robotics.
Working Principle
This controller regulates motor speed by adjusting the duty cycle of the PWM signal-essentially, how long the motor receives voltage in each cycle.
Higher duty cycle (closer to 100%) = motor runs faster.
Lower duty cycle (as low as 5%) = motor runs slower.
Reversible Function: Through the onboard switch, users can easily control the motor to rotate forward, backward, or stop.
Potentiometer with switch: The knob simultaneously adjusts speed and toggles power on/off.
This allows for precise, variable speed control without sacrificing motor torque at lower speeds, as happens in resistive (voltage-drop) speed controls.

Important Usage Notes
Do NOT connect to AC mains (220V) - This module only accepts DC input. Connecting it to AC will destroy the module and pose serious risk.
This is not a power supply; it requires a proper DC power source and a motor connected to function correctly.
Measuring output voltage with a multimeter without a motor connected will yield inaccurate or zero readings-PWM signals must be loaded to be measured properly.
Motor wiring is non-polarized-you can connect the motor wires in either orientation. If the motor runs in the opposite direction from what you want, simply reverse the wiring or use the built-in switch.
