This special collection of Holbein Acrylic Gouache 20ml colours has been produced in collaboration with US-based illustrator and author Rebecca Green, with the packaging featuring newly created artwork made by Rebecca using the 12 colours included in the set. The collection was originally released as a limited edition in 2021 and is being re-released in response to requests from around the world. Holbein Acrylic Gouache is an opaque, highly pigmented paint that dries to a velvety matt finish. In terms of handling and mixing, it behaves like traditional gum arabic gouache, but because it is made with an acrylic resin binder, it is water-resistant once dry. It dries quickly and with minimal colour shift, so what you see wet is what you get once the paint has dried.

Holbein Acrylic Gouache does not have the same fragile surface as traditional gouache made with gum arabic, as the acrylic paint film is more flexible and durable. It can also be mixed with other acrylic or traditional gouaches, as well as with watercolours, giving artists flexibility across mixed media work. This curated 12-colour collection reflects Rebecca Green's own illustrative palette, spanning warm tones such as Vermilion, Coral Red, and Mustard through to natural greens like Emerald Green and Sap Green. Pale Aqua, Smalt Blue, and Ash Blue offer soft, muted cools, while Ash Yellow, Burnt Sienna, and Sepia provide gentle earth tones. Gold rounds out the set, adding a subtle metallic accent well suited to decorative and illustrative work.
