What injuries is the iWALK most suited for?
Suitable for These Injuries:
The iWALK crutch is effective for various lower leg injuries such as foot fractures, sprained ankles, Achilles tendon injuries, tibia and fibula fractures, and more. It helps maintain mobility and can keep your foot elevated after surgery or significant injury.
Not Suitable for These Injuries:
The iWALK crutch does not work for injuries above the knee, including ACL and MCL tears, patella conditions, hamstring strains, groin injuries, and diabetic ulcers affecting balance.
What Are the Physical Limitations for the iWALK?

To determine if the iWALK crutch is suitable for your injury, consider the following basic physical requirements:
- Basic Physical Requirements: Regardless of age, if you can pass these two physical ability tests, you should be capable of using the iWALK crutch.
- Stair Test: Before your injury, could you fluidly walk up and down stairs at a normal pace without using a handrail?
- Balance Test: Can you balance on one foot for a full 30 seconds?
You CAN use the iWALK Crutch If:
- Compliance: You commit to following the fitting and use instructions before your first use and are willing to spend 5-20 minutes adapting to the crutch.
- Pre-injury Ability: You had average strength and balance, could walk normally, and navigate stairs without support.
- Capacity: You are between 147 cm (4'10") and 198 cm (6'6") tall, weigh 125 kg (275 lbs) or less, and have a maximum thigh circumference of 71 cm (28 inches).
- Other Requirements: Your injury is to one leg below the knee, you can bend your injured leg 90 degrees at the knee, and have full functionality in your uninjured leg.
You CANNOT Use the iWALK Crutch If:
- Capacity: You weigh over 125 kg (275 lbs), have a thigh circumference above 71 cm (28 inches), or do not meet the sizing guidelines.
- Pre-injury Ability: You struggle with normal activities, need assistive devices to walk, lose balance, or require a handrail for stairs.
- Compliance: You plan to use the iWALK crutch without following the fitting and use instructions.
- Other Requirements: You cannot bend your injured leg 90 degrees at the knee.
Can I use iWALK on wet surfaces?
The iWALK crutch features a Vibram tread, known for its excellent traction on both dry and wet surfaces. However, like any hard, wet surface, caution is needed as it can still be slippery. Always use exercise caution when navigating slippery surfaces to ensure safety.
