When purchasing a cut-off machine there are a handful of factors to consider that might impact your decision. So here is a small guide to help you get back on track.

This is possibly the most important of the 3 factors when buying such a machine. Bench mounted or bench top machine will always be electric. Whereas the hand-held varients could be both electric and petrol powered. This usually affects the weight and the overall power output of the machine.
Blade Diameter:
The size of the the blade will determine which material you can cut (Typically Wood, metal, tiles and concrete) and exactly how much of it you can cut.
Cutting Capacity:
The angles at which the machine can cut and the size of the medium that can be cut (Eg: Only 0° - 45° and only 2 MM of metal tubing). |
