The 48204-0001 is a 4-way 4-row upright right angle Type A Universal Serial Bus (USB) shielded I/O receptacle with gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts. The 48204 series reverse mount receptacle is suitable for wire-to-board applications. It mates with USB Type A plug. Industry standard USB connectors and cable assemblies provide connection for power and data exchange without the need for a host PC across a variety of industries. The Universal Serial Bus was developed in 1996 to integrate a variety of existing PC I/O ports into a single interface with hot-plugging, automatic configuration capabilities and increased bandwidth to enhance serial I/O throughput for a wide range of peripherals.
