This exquisite tea is part of a rare tradition known as Artistic Show Tea, also referred to as Flower Bud Tea or Garden in the Pot. Crafted by master tea artisans, each tea ball is carefully hand-tied using ultra-premium green tea leaves and vibrant globe amaranth flowers, forming a compact sphere that slowly blossoms during infusion.
The technique required to create this tea is a true art form. With precision and skill, tea masters roll the delicate leaves and flowers together into a single ball. Once steeped in hot water, the sphere gradually unfurls, revealing an elegant floral display that captivates both the eye and the palate.
Historically, this was a tribute tea enjoyed by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, cherished not only for its refined taste but also for its visual splendour. It remains a symbol of beauty, grace, and the quiet luxury of time taken to appreciate something extraordinary.
Serving suggestion:
We recommend brewing artistic show tea with water at around 85 degrees Celsius. Place one ball of tea into a glass teapot to fully appreciate the unfolding of the flower. Steep for approximately 5-7 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If a stronger brew is desired, you may steep it for another minute or two. This tea can be steeped a second time by simply extending the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
