Buchu leaves are a botanical treasure native to South Africa's Western and Eastern Cape. In the wild, the fresh leaves appear as lush evergreen sprigs with delicate, saw-like edges. As they dry, their colour softens to a pale olive, yet their character becomes even more pronounced.
The aroma of buchu is a unique tapestry of earthy depth, grassy coolness akin to peppermint, spicy warmth reminiscent of rosemary and a subtle hint of berry fruitiness. When infused, the tea releases these layers in a smooth, rounded cup that feels both grounding and invigorating.

Serving suggestion:
We recommend brewing herbal infusion with water at around 100 degrees Celsius. Steep the herbs for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of herbs, or roughly one teaspoon. This infusion may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
