Nestled in the misty hills of Yunnan Province, Pu-Erh tea is celebrated across Asia for its time-honoured processing and reputed wellness benefits. After harvest, the leaves are gently steamed, pressed into cakes or pearls, and then set aside for an extended fermentation. A second ageing in humid cellars, sometimes lasting several years, deepens the tea's earthy complexity and creates its signature smooth, velvety liquor.
When blended with bright yellow chrysanthemum flowers, this Pu-Erh reveals a harmonious marriage of earth and bloom. The floral sweetness of the chrysanthemum lifts the robust, mellow notes of aged Pu-Erh, producing an infusion that soothes the body and mind. Each cup carries a golden glow, balancing gentle bitterness with a lingering floral perfume that feels like a warm embrace on cool mornings or for moments of restful recovery.
Top-quality Pu-Erh often commands attention at auctions for its rarity and depth of flavour. This Yellow Chrysanthemum Pu-Erh offers a more accessible yet refined experience, combining traditional fermentation with the healing essence of chrysanthemum. It is a perfect companion for anyone seeking nourishment, comfort or a moment of quiet reflection during the colder seasons.
Serving suggestion:
We recommend brewing Pu-Erh tea with water at around 100 degrees Celsius. Steep the tea for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of loose leaf tea, or roughly one teaspoon. This tea may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
