How is the waterproofness of the NH100 rain jacket component measured?
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm of water column (test based on JIS 1092). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This waterproof jacket resists the pressure exerted by 5,000 mm of water (which corresponds roughly to a one-hour rain shower).
To validate this, the NH100 waterproof rain jacket was placed in a shower for 1 hour, pouring 60 l of water/m /h. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain downpour.
