This garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 l of water/m /hour for 2 hours. This test replicates average mountain downpour conditions.
A waterproofness rating of 2,000 mm means the fabric can resist the pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water (about a 2-hour downpour).
Waterproofness is expressed in schmerbers (e.g., 2,000 schmerbers).
Breathability of the Component
Breathability is measured by its evaporative resistance, RET (ISO 11092 test). The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric:
RET 9: Extremely breathable fabric.
9 RET 12: Very breathable fabric.
12 RET 20: Breathable fabric.
RET 20: Slightly or not breathable fabric.
Water Repellency of the Component
The fabric's water repellency lets water slide over the surface without absorbing it. This prevents the textile from becoming waterlogged and helps maintain its lightness and breathability.
Achieved through a treatment applied to the fabric's outer surface, which should be renewed every three washes.
