Application Instructions

1. Surface Preparation:

Ensure all dirt, leaves, and debris are removed.

The surface must be clean and dry.

Repair gaps or holes larger than 2mm with ToughSealer and a membrane.

Note: Water-based paints like ToughSealer cannot be applied over Bitumen or oil-based paints without proper surface preparation.

Painting:

1. Apply two coats of ToughSealer, approximately 3 hours apart.

2. Avoid painting if rain is expected to allow the paint to cure properly

3.Be aware that heat and humidity can impact drying time.

Final Coating:

1. For added protection against the sun, apply a water-based roof paint like Super Platina's ToughRoof.

Specifications

• Drying Time: Surface dry in 1-3 hours (depending on temperature)
• Application Temperature: 10 C - 35 C
• Spread Rate: 3-5 m /litre (depending on surface)
• Coats Required: Preferably two coats
• Gloss Level: Sheen finish

Surface Preparation:

• Dilute the first coat with up to 20% water on absorbent surfaces.
• Directly apply to cement, galvanized roofing, concrete, wallboards, and ceilings.
• For ferrous surfaces, remove rust and prime with a suitable primer.
• Prime chalky surfaces with a bonding liquid.
• For oil-painted surfaces, use a universal undercoat after cleaning.

General

Cleanup: Clean brushes with water immediately after use.

Storage: Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and severe cold.

Weather Conditions:

Do not paint during wet or cold weather (below 10 C).

Avoid painting when temperatures exceed 40 C.

Important Consideration

While ToughSealer is designed to provide long-lasting protection, environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, high humidity, and chemicals can

negatively impact its longevity. For best results, follow the recommended application guidelines and consider environmental conditions during application.

Do not use in sunken ponds.

For optimal performance on rusted surfaces, it is recommended to first apply Super Platina - Tough Waterbased Primer - Redoxide (Also available on Takealot)

The red oxide primer enhances adhesion, helps prevent rust and corrosion, and creates a durable bonding surface to ensure long-lasting waterproofing results. Proper surface preparation - including cleaning, removing loose rust, and allowing the primer to dry completely - will significantly improve the overall finish and lifespan of the rubber coating.
