Vita-Thion Granules - Sachets 60 is an energy supplement formulated with Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is a natural energy carrying molecule that provides a sustained release of your bodys natural energy to keep you going throughout the day.How to take:Adults: 1 to 2 sachets dissolved in water at breakfast.Children: 2 to 5 years: half ( ) a sachet at breakfast.Children: 5 to 15 years: half ( ) a sachet at breakfast and half ( ) a sachet at lunch.Do not exceed the recommended dose. Method of administration: Sachet is to be dissolved in water.Warnings and precautions:- This unregistered medicine has not been evaluated by the SAHPRA for its quality, safety or intended use.- In overdose, side effects can be precipitated and/or be of increased severity.- Common side effects: Oesophagitis, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal cramps, gastrointestinal obstruction and diarrhoea.- Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. In the absence of suffi cient data, the use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.- Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the ingredients listed.- Large doses of vitamin C may result in hyperoxaluria and formation of renal calcium oxalate calculi.- Large amounts of Vitamin C can cause haemolysis in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) defi ciency.- Larger amounts of vitamin C can increase the risk of oxalate kidney stones in patients prone to oxalate stone formation.- Vitamin C may increase the absorption of iron in iron-defi ciency states.- Alcoholism increases the risk of vitamin B1 defi ciency.- Chronic liver disease, especially cirrhosis, increases the risk of Vitamin B1 defi ciency, regardless of alcohol use.- Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) can cause hyperuricemia and uricosuria, and might precipitate gout.- ATP can cause cardiac ischaemia and chest pain. It might worsen symptoms in patients with heart diseases such as angina and myocardial infarction.- Tolerance may be induced with prolonged use of large doses, resulting in symptoms of defi ciency when intake is reduced to normal.- Inositol has antiplatelet effects and might cause excessive bleeding if used perioperatively. Discontinue inositol at least 2 weeks before elective surgical procedure.- Patients receiving haemodialysis seem to be at risk for Vitamin B1 de ficiency. Vitamin B1 supplementation may be needed in these patients.- Consult a relevant health care provider before use if pregnant, intending to be become pregnant or breastfeeding.- Patients with the rare hereditary condition such as fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency should not take Vita-Thion Granules - Sachets 60.- Patients with the rare hereditary condition of galactose intolerance e.g., galactosaemia, Lapp lactase de ficiency, glucose-galactose mal-absorption or fructose intolerance should not take Vita-Thion Granules - Sachets 60.- Vita-Thion Granules - Sachets 60. contains sucrose and lactose monohydrate which may have an effect on the glycaemic control of patients with diabetes mellitus.- Store at or below 25 C in a dry place.
