The new William Optics ZenithStar 61 II has the same lens, a doublet lens with FPL-53 glass, giving the telescope an excellent colour correction. The telescope's focal point is 360 mm and f ratio is f / 5.9.
Focusing device is still a rack and pinion with a 2 inch accessory connection and an adaptor to 1.25 inch. You can focus accurately with the dual speed focus buttons. On the left button a small gadget from William himself, a temperature meter. Using an auto focus motor is optional.
Another smart extra on the ZenithStar 61 II is the Bahtinov mask incorporated in the cap. So you actually have a dust cap and Bahtinov mask in one. All made of aluminium and the mask of transparent plastic.
There are 2 types of flatteners on the market for the ZenithStar 61 II, that are a flattener (Flat61A and a flattener reducer (Flat61R), both adjustable to the correct distance so that the correct back focus can be achieved with a DSLR or ZWO camera. The Flat61R even turns the ZenithStar 61 into a very fast telescope thanks to the 0.8x reduction of the focal length, resulting in an F ratio of f / 4.72.
