Care and Maintenance:
- Dust the track with a soft dry brush. Do not use water, sprays or cleaning products, since moisture swells plywood and a swollen track section will not run true.
- Keep the balls clean and dry. Grit or moisture on a metal ball transfers straight onto the running surface and slows everything down.
- Keep the finished run out of direct sunlight and away from damp. A warped track is the main reason a marble run that worked last month has stopped.
- Ease parts together rather than forcing them. Thin plywood tabs snap rather than bend, so check orientation against the diagram first.
- Set it up on a level surface. A run built true will still fail on a sloping table, and that is usually what has gone wrong before anything else.
