How does it work? Without poisons or chemicals harmful to wildlife, the trap relies on good old beer or yeast. Dig a hole approximately 3.5 cm deep and bury the trap with the upper half exposed, or place slug traps amongst bushes or other areas where you regularly find slugs or snails. Add a small amount of beer and sugar or water, sugar and yeast. Place the lids on the traps and wait whilst they attract slugs and snails.

After a few days, empty the contents of the traps and refill. Making a Fermented Sugar Mixture: To make a mixture of fermented sugar add one or two tablespoons of sugar and one teaspoon of dried yeast to about 300ml of water. Stir the mixture and pour into a bowl
