Thanks to the significant improvements made to heart rate measurement hardware and GPS hardware as well as optimizations to algorithms, the accuracy of heart rate measurements and GPS positioning for professional sports has increased greatly. For example, the accuracy of heart rate measurements has reached 5 bpm during workouts such as intermittent running and marathon events, the accuracy of route positioning has reached the track level, and the real-time pace accuracy and distance accuracy have reached industry-leading levels.

100 Workout Modes
The watch supports GPS dual-band four-star positioning and provides multiple professional workout modes, such as Run, Cycle, Swim, Triathlon, Mountain Hike, and Trail Run. 100 workout modes are available for your customization:

• Add your desired workout types to the list of frequently used types.
• Remove unneeded workout types from the list of frequently used types.

Professional Running Data
The watch can record a variety of professional workout data, such as time, distance, calories burnt, pace, stride, heart rate zone, aerobic training effect, anaerobic training effect, maximum oxygen uptake, and recovery time, to make exercising more scientific.

Huaweis scientific sports system provides evaluations and suggestions for entry-level runners based on the following indicators.

Multiple Heart Rate Zones
The maximum heart rate varies depending on the workout mode. Maximum heart rates can be set using different labels to accurately calculate calories burnt in a certain workout mode.

Heart Rate Zones and Pace
Five levels of workout intensity are defined using the heart rate zone and pace to represent five states of energy consumption.

Physical Status
After outdoor running is enabled for a period of time, the watch calculates the benefits, informs users of their current exercise status, and adjusts the strategy in a timely manner to avoid any injuries from doing exercise.

Recovery Heart Rate
The recovery heart rate refers to the difference between the heart rate at a specified time after a workout and the peak heart rate during the workout. Frequently used measurement intervals include one, two, and three minutes. The time and degree of heart rate recovery after exercise can be used to measure athletes adaptability to training loads and their physical fitness.

Resting Heart Rate
The resting heart rate refers to the stable heart rate measured when a person is awake and relaxed. Long-term regular exercise can enhance heart functions and lower the resting heart rate.

Lactate Threshold
Measurement and use of the lactate threshold:

The watch provides two lactate threshold test modes: active and automatic modes.

In active mode, you can follow the onscreen instructions to run with the corresponding intensity. After the measurement is complete, your heart rate will be calculated based on the lactate threshold. The heart rate percentage based on the lactate has been added for accurately dividing heart rate zones on the watch. You can enter the measured lactate threshold when setting heart rate zones to meet your training requirements.

In automatic mode, if conditions for measuring the lactate threshold are met during a workout, the watch will automatically measure the lactate during the workout and display the accurate lactate threshold after the workout ends.

RAI – Huawei’s Brand-New Running Capability Evaluation System
Running records are used to evaluate the running performance and quantify runners capabilities and determine their levels.

For example, when runners go all out in a race or training session, they can be ranked or graded out of all runners from the race, which helps runners understand how well they are doing and whether they are making progress. Real-time running ability index (RAI) represents your current status, which is the level of running capability after youve finished running that day (so it will fluctuate). Recent RAI is calculated based on your recent real-time RAIs and evaluates your recent running status.
The result can be used to predict your performance in the near future and determine the pace for defining the training intensity.

Huaweis brand-new running capability evaluation system uses an evolved algorithm. After each training session, the system calculates the RAI based on the relationship between the heart rate and pace even if runners do not push themselves to their limit. This allows users to learn about their running status in real time.

Training Status
Status Index
The status index comprehensively evaluates your current physical status after a period of training. The value changes with the accumulated training intensity. Higher training intensity indicates a lower status index. The watch provides scientific guidance on professional training based on this indicator.

You can adjust the status index to the optimal value before sport events to achieve better performance.

Training Load
The training load is the training time multiplied by the training intensity and is an accurate reflection of the training amount and the impact of training on the body.

Recovery Time
Recovery time indicates the time it takes for the body to fully recover after a workout. It reflects how the body gets fatigued during the workout.

Maximum Oxygen Uptake (VO2Max)
Maximum oxygen uptake indicates the highest level of oxygen uptake and utilization per kilogram of body weight per time unit during a long period of intense exercise. It reflects the bodys ability to intake, transport, and utilize oxygen, and is therefore an important indicator for assessing the ability to do aerobic exercise.

Training Performance
Aerobic training effect: This indicates the benefits of aerobic exercise for the body during a single workout. Long-term aerobic training can effectively improve the aerobic training effect.

Anaerobic training effect: This indicates the benefits of high-intensity training for the body during a single workout. High-intensity intermittent training can effectively improve the anaerobic training effect.

Smart Running Plans
The watch offers more personalized, user-friendly, scientific, and professional smart running plans. You can customize a scientific training plan based on your training goals and times. Every week, the plan is automatically adjusted based on your status and a summary is provided to encourage the completion of short-term goals. You can also customize a training plan based on your training status and feedback for the difficulty of subsequent courses to be intelligently adjusted.

Personalized training plans
Differentiated training plans are developed based on information such as runners personal information, running goals, and running capabilities.

Intelligent adjustment of training content
With the help of the smart running plan algorithm, the watch intelligently adjusts the course schedule for the next week and pays attention to the runners status at all times. This algorithm combines the weekly training records and user feedback, removing unnecessary choices and preventing the plans from being rigid and difficult to follow.

Data-based guidance
Based on professional theories such as “Daniels Running Formula”, the watch provides suitable guidance on running modes, exercise intensity, and exercise load. Plans can be managed through the
app with ease and then pushed to the watch. The watch reminds you of your heart rate zone and pace zone in real time, providing precise guidance and preventing you from exercising incorrectly.

Real-time guidance from the watch
The training content is pushed to the watch. During this time, the watch supports switching workouts and voice and card notifications when the intensity exceeds a specified range.

Gradual capability improvement
The principle of scientific training is followed to gradually increase the training volume and improve training.

Periodic training
Based on Jack Daniels classic running training system, running involves several phases, including the preliminary, improvement, consolidation, and reduction phases, which are effective at helping improve the performance of runners.

Improvement through strength training
Training plans may include suitable strength training to lay a foundation for improving performance.

Auto-Detect
The watch identifies the current workout mode based on your workout status and reminds you to start a workout. You can ignore it or touch to enter the corresponding workout. Currently, only Indoor/Outdoor Run, Indoor/Outdoor Walk, Elliptical, and Rower support the auto-detect feature.

Running Route Sharing
You can use the HUAWEI Health app to import other users workout routes and share your workout routes with them.
Precise Route Back
If you get lost while on an outdoor adventure, you only need to enable the route back and real-time voice guidance features. You can then return to the original route based on the directions provided. When you get lost in environments such as deserts and hills, switch to linear navigation to quickly return to where you came from. The watch calculates the navigation distance and displays the remaining distance and estimated arrival time.

Heart Rate Broadcast
After heart rate broadcasts are enabled, the watch will continuously measure your heart rate and share your heart rate with connected devices or third-party apps.

External Heart Rate Bands
The watch can be connected to a standard heart rate band to obtain and display your heart rate data in real time during workouts, providing more choices for health and fitness enthusiasts.

External Running Form Devices
The watch can be connected a Huawei running form device to read your running data from the device while you are running. This helps you learn about your running status in a timely manner. There are nine professional running forms that are currently available: landing mode, ground contact time, ratio of ground contact time to flight time, ground contact impact, eversion amplitude, swing angle, vertical amplitude, left-right ground contact balance, and vertical stride ratio.
