Tips for Airless Sprayers
Clean your machine:
The most common issue we have found with most machines is purely because they are not clean. Leaving paint in the machine whilst taking a break or even overnight can seem a bit daunting. However, we must remember that paint dries with air! Meaning that if the machine as well as the gun is sealed then it should be more than safe to leave it in the machine.
Replace your filters:
Has your sprayer randomly stopped working? Check your filters! Whenever your machine seems to stop for no apparent reason we’ve found that the simplest fix is usually to replace the 1or 2 filters within the machine, or the filter in the handle of your gun.
Spray Distance:
As a rule of thumb, keep the nozzle roughly 30 to 35 CM away from the spray surface. The extra pressure results in more paint being sprayed as well as faster coverage. This could possibly create runs as well. So keep your distance!
Types of Paint:
Most airless sprayers have no issues with oil based paint or stain. However, you must be very careful when moving on to thicker paints such as latex based paint. This could be done depending on the machine at your disposal. Always consult the manual or the manufacturer before trying such paint. |
