Pleated cartridges maximize the square meterage of the filter. The larger the surface area, the more dirt particles it can filter out. Its larger filtration area allows the water to progress through the cartridge and remove smaller particles. This will save pool owners money by not constantly removing water and pool chemicals.

Cartridge refills are the easiest to maintain and clean. When the cartridges are dirty or the pressure in your filter rises, it is time to clean them. Depending on the water chemistry and season, most pool owners clean their cartridges every 2 – 4 weeks. Cleaning is as easy as using a garden hose to rinse them off or letting it dry and brush with a soft bristle brush.

Existing pool owners can expect the filter to last a year, depending on your water chemistry, bather load and it will not last as long with excessive amounts of suntan lotion, deodorants, hair-care products, and other chemicals.

New pool owners will need to replace the cartridge after 3 months.

It’s always recommended that you keep 2 replacement cartridges, so that there is no interruption of your swimming pool water filtration when you remove one to clean it.
