ToughSealer – Rubber Sealer 5L – Liquid Rubber Waterproof Your Roof – White

For more than 20-year Super Platina is making high-quality paints in South Africa.

Our Tough Rubber Sealer is a water based acrylic rubberizing paint to waterproof galvanized, tile and cement roofs. It can also be used to waterproof anything from carton boxes to water features and much more.

It is recommended to be used with Super Platina s ToughRoof paint as well as our Tough Primer where there is rust.

Application instructions
1. Surface preparation is extremely important.
a. Remove all dirt, leaves and other debris
b. Get the surface clean and dry
c. Fix gaps/holes of more than 2mm with ToughSealer and a membrane.
d. Please note that water-based paints like ToughSealer cannot be painted over Bitumen and other oil-based paints without treating the surface first.

Paint preferably two coats of ToughSealer +- 3 hours apart
Do not paint when it rains or if rain is expected as paint need to cure to prevent it from washing off the surface.
It is always a good idea to cover the sealer afterwards with a good water-based roof paint like Super Platina s ToughRoof in order to protect the rubber against the sun.

Specifications:
– Drying time (depending on temperature): Surface dry: 1-3 hour
– Application temperature: 10 C – 35 C
– Spread rate: 3 – 5m /litre (depending on surface)
– Preferably 2 coats required
– Gloss Level: Sheen finish
– On all absorbent surfaces, dilute the first coat with up to 20% water
– It can be directly applied to cement, galvanized roofing, concrete, wallboards/ceilings
– Ferrous surfaces: Remove rust on surface and prime with suitable primer
– Chalky surfaces must be primed with a bonding liquid
– For all oil-painted surfaces use a universal undercoat after surfaces have been cleaned
– Clean brush with water as soon as finished
– Store away from direct sunlight, heat and severe cold
– Do not paint during wet or cold weather (below 10 C)
