AIB polyurethane expandable foam ( 750ml ) is a multipurpose, moisture-curing polyurethane foam used to seal, insulate, and fill gaps in construction and DIY projects. The 750ml aerosol canister expands to fill voids, hardening into a rigid, airtight barrier that blocks drafts, pests, and moisture. Expanding foam, also known as spray foam, is a polyurethane-based product that expands upon contact with air. It's widely used in construction and renovation for sealing gaps, insulating walls, or filling voids.
Polyurethane (PU) is a unique polymer that is elastic like a rubber but can be repeatedly stretched and reformed like a plastic. Best Practices for Application
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure areas are clean and slightly dampened, as moisture helps the foam cure properly.
- Shake & Apply: Vigorously shake the can for 60 seconds. Always hold the canister upside down (valve facing the floor) during application so the propellant dispenses correctly.
- Under-Fill: Fill the gap only about 50% to 70% full, as the foam will self-expand and continue to grow as it cures.
- Cleanup: Use an appropriate solvent (like acetone) to remove any fresh foam from unwanted surfaces, as it is highly adhesive and difficult to remove once hardened.
