HOW TO USE - 7 WAYS:
1. DESCALER & LIMESCALE REMOVER
Removes mineral scale from kettles, coffee machines, dishwashers, washing machines, taps and shower heads.
- Kettle: 2 table spoons per 1L water, boil, leave 15 mins, rinse 2-3 times
- Coffee Machine: 1-2 table spoons with water, run descaling cycle, rinse twice
- Dishwasher: 3-4 table spoons in empty machine, run hottest cycle
- Washing Machine: 2 scoops (4 table spoons) to hot water, no clothes, full cycle
- Taps/Showers: 2 table spoons in 500ml warm water, soak cloth and wipe, or soak head 30 mins
2. BATHROOM & KITCHEN CLEANER
- General: Mix 10 parts water to 1 part Citric Acid. Clean vanity, basin, shower recess, benchtops, cupboards and stove tops. Use less dilution for tough areas.
- Toilet: Add 1 cup to bowl, leave overnight, brush in morning.
- Windows: 1 table spoons per 1 litre water in spray bottle, spray and wipe
3. LAUNDRY & CLOTHES SOFTENER
Hard water minerals (calcium & magnesium) stop detergent from lathering. Citric Acid binds these minerals, softening water so detergent works better and you need less.
- As Softener: Add 1-2 table spoons to fabric softener compartment during rinse. Start with 1 table spoon, increase if needed for hard water or large loads.
4. FOOD ENHANCER & PRESERVATIVE
Enhances flavour, preserves foods, breaks down proteins in meat for tender marination. Used in beverages, conserves, jelly, frozen and canned foods.
- Jams: 1/2 table spoons per kg of fruit
- Beverages: 1/4 table spoons per litre
- Only use if certified food grade and follow recipe
5. DIY BATH BOMBS
Bath Bomb would not be a Bath Bomb without Citric Acid. Main ingredients are Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate and Epsom Salt. When combined in hot water, carbon dioxide in Bicarb reacts with Citric Acid creating bubbling, fizzing, effervescent soak.
- Basic Recipe: 1 cup Bicarb, 1/2 cup Citric Acid, 1/2 cup Epsom Salt, 1/2 cup Corn Starch, 3 table spoon oils, water to spritz
6. COSMETIC FORMULATIONS
Often in hair care, shampoos, facial creams and lotions where it acts as antioxidant, revitalizes skin and balances pH levels.
- Use as per formulation, typically 0.5% - 2%
