Our TAE Tapes are Laminated and Have Easy Peel Split Backs for Easy Application.
Our label tape consists of 7 layers: Protective coating (PET), Lettering, Adhesive (acrylic), Base film (PET), Color layer for the base film, Adhesive (acrylic) and Backing paper.
This results in a thin, extremely strong label.
Characters and text are formed with thermal transfer ink and sandwiched between two protective layers of PET (polyester film).
The result is a virtually indestructible label that performs excellent on flat surfaces like office paper, file folders, kitchen items, and most flat, non-textured metal, plastic and glass surfaces.
- After 50 round-trip passes with a 1kg weighted sanding block our laminated tapes were only slightly scratched with the characters and text underneath completely unaffected.
- Having submerged our laminated tapes in a variety of liquids for two hours, they still remain affixed to their surfaces with little damage. Even harsh chemical spills, a quick wiping results in minimal damage.
- Our tapes were attached to coated metal panels, and placed in a fade-inducing chamber at 83 degrees C (181.4F) for 100 hours to simulate a year in a sunny environment.
Then were placed in a chamber at 63 degrees C (145.4F) for 400 hours to simulate a year in, not only heat and light, but water as well, and still found to be in excellent condition.
