EVAP- EGR Test

American cars brand after 1996 and European cars brand after 2000 are equipped with EVAP servies port. Usually, the evap service port is located in the engine compartment, but there are a few exceptions.

OBD trouble codes related to EVAP system include p0443-0457/p0465-0469. If sucn trouble codes are detected, EVAP system should be tested.

• 1.EVAP system: find the EVAP service port (usually there is a green cover on the service port), use the special tools for EVAP valve to remove the valve core inside the service port (please note that the valve core is reverse thread), install the EVAP service port test adapter, and connect the smoke tube.
• 2.EGR valve /carbon canister: disconnect the quick connector connecting the pipeline, select the test connector and tee connector of the same specifcation in the test kit to connect them in series, and connect the bypass test pipe to the smoke cone of the smoke tube.
• 3.Switch on the main unit and it start produce smoke, and lead the smoke into the service port while thick smoke.
• 4.Few moment later start to detect the leakage.

• Crankcase System Test: Excessive pressure or corrosion of the crankcase is the main reason to damage the seal of the crankcase and cause oil leakage.
• Intake System Test: Leakage in the air intake system will lead to insufficient intake of the car engine, which will result in scant engine power.

• Fuel Tank System Test: When there are gaps in the fuel tank and piping caused by improper installation or insufficient sealing of the fuel tank cap, it can cause leaks in the fuel tank system.
• Turbo Test: The leakage of coolant would cause the engine to report high water temperature.
• Various Pipe Fittings Test: Smoke testing of brake hoses, power steering hoses, cooling system hoses, air conditioning system hoses, turbocharger hoses, fuel hoses, intake and exhaust system hoses, etc.
• Exhaust System Test: Unpurified harmful gases to be discharged into the atmosphere or increase vehicle noise is the main disadvantage when leaks happened in the exhaust.

Overheat and antifreeze protection

The smoke detector is equipped with the latest intelligent protection devices. When the temperature of the equipment exceeds 75 degrees Celsius, the power protection device will intelligently start and shut down to ensure the safety of the operator and equipment. If the device operates continuously for more than 15 minutes, it will be protected from overheating for a protection time greater than 10 minutes. This device is also suitable for low-temperature operation. Only car batteries with a full capacity of 12V are supported.

How to use It?

1. Inject 10ml-20ml of test oil into the smoke leak detector, filling 20ML of test fluid, under standard working conditions, can be used continuously for about 10 minutes; (about Smoke Oil: advise use the Baby oil)

2. Open the pipe that needs to be connected with the leak detector.

3. Install the airbag adapter into the sealed pipe and connect the device to the smoke conduit.

4. Connect the leak detector to the DC12V battery and the device will start working. NOTE: red clamp tp positive(+), and black clamp to negative(-)

5. The pipe will be filled with smoke and the leakage point will be checked.

6. Test the leaking pipeline, under the premise of sealing accurately, generally about 1 minute can be filled with smoke, if there is a leak, within 3 minutes, you can observe the results.

Note:The e-liquid used in the product can be either No. 5 vegetable oil or baby oil
