Before first use:
- Heat the pot until hte oil begives to give off smoke.
- Remove the pot from heat source and allow to cool.
- Wipe the inside of the pot with a clean paper towel. Repeat this step until the towel wipes are clean.
- Your pot is now ready to use!
Rust:
- In the event of rust , scrub the rust off with a fine wire brush and hoat soapy water until the rust is finally removed.
- Repeat the curing process before cooking in it again.
Storage and care:
- Never leave ANY food inside of hte pot overnight.
- Wash pot in and outside thoroughly and allow time too dry. DO NOT WASH POT INDISHWASHER!
- Do not use any shart metal opbject inside or outside of pot wheil clenaing. Best to use a wooden or silicone unitensil.
- Wipe the inside of the pot with either oil or use LK's Multi Purpose Potjie Care and Protect spray.
- Use scrunched up newspaper inside the pot to absorb any an all moister and store in a clean and dry area.
