Footwear sizing varies between brands, so use your actual foot length rather than the size you usually buy. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure in millimetres. Do both feet and use the larger one.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one.

This is a traditional veldskoen last, cut close through the forefoot. If you have a wide or high-volume foot, order one size up.

The suede softens and moulds to your foot within two or three wears, so a snug first fit is normal.

The UK 9 is the roomiest size in the range. If you measure 264 to 266 mm, take the UK 9 with a thicker sock rather than the UK 8.

Ladies sizes (3-7) can be styled with optional free pink laces for a distinctive look.
