Waterbased Anti-Rust Primer - Can Be Used as a Paint on Its Own
Tough Primer Waterbased is a waterbased anti-rust primer that can also be used as a protective paint on its own (two coats required). This makes it a practical and cost-effective solution for metal roofs and steelwork.
Developed with an industry-leading laboratory, this product uses an adhesion-promoted acrylic emulsion and multiple rust inhibitors to help stop rust and improve the lifespan of your coating system.

Surface Preparation
- Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from loose rust, flaking paint, oil or grease.
- Remove all loose material before applying.
- Good preparation ensures better adhesion and longer-lasting results.
- Use a universal undercoat first if you paint over solvent based paints
Application Guidelines
- Stir well before use
- Do not apply below 10 C or above 35 C
- Avoid application if humidity is above 80%
- Do not apply if rain is expected within 2 hours
- Allow at least 4 hours before recoating
- Apply two coats if used as a standalone paint
