Vermiculite is a great incubation medium for reptile eggs and also for raising the humidity in incubators. Not only is it sterile but its aeration properties combined with its water-holding capacity make it a very suitable substrate for egg incubation.

Vermiculite is sterile and the pH is neutral. It's great for incubation as it has excellent thermal insulation properties.

It is advisable to wear a dust mask and goggles when working with vermiculite to avoid throat or eye irritation.
