Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry or Amalaki is an adaptogen herb that may assist in supporting the immune and digestive system. The tree that yields these gooseberry-like fruits grows throughout India. It s Vitamin C content is one of the highest in the vegetable kingdom (20 times that of an orange), and it is heat stable due to the tannin content. Amla literally means sour . Another name for Amla means mother , or nurse , indicating that amla is the ultimate carer and healer. In Ayurveda it is a major ingredient in cyavanaprasa, the elixir tonic past that is a rejuvenative for the lungs and reproductive system. It have also been used for the reduction of inflammation in the digestive tract, assisting the bowels and strengthening the heart.
Digestion: specifically indicated and may be useful for digestive sensitivity, constipation, ulcers, acidity, gastritis and colitis (inflammatory and bleeding conditions of the intestines).
Heart: Amla has an affinity with the heart by reducing cholesterol and healing arterial damage (potent antioxidant).
General: Adatogen herb and promoting immunity. Consider using Amla as an immune restorative and hepatoprotective during radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments.
Ingredients
One vegetarian capsule provides: Emblica officinalis (Indian gooseberry) [fruit, extract standardised for a minimum of 10% Beta-glucogallin] 400 mg. Other ingredients: Vegetarian capsule, natural flow agent and microcrystalline cellulose.
Directions
Take two (2) to four (4) capsules per day after a meal, or as directed by your health care provider.
