Composition:

Each capsule contains:

Milk thistle extract – 250mg
(Standardised to 80% Silymarin)
Providing Silymarin – 200mg

Pharmacological Action:
– May act as a liver protectant and may support liver function.

List Of Excipients: Maize starch, Silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, Sodium chloride

Dosage And Directions for Use:
– Adults (over 18 years old): Take one to two capsules daily with food or as directed by your healthcare professional. Do not exceed recommended dosage without consulting your healthcare practitioner.

Contra-Indications:
– Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
– Milk thistle may cause an allergic reaction in individuals sensitive to the Asteraceae/Compositae family such as ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds and daisies.

Warnings And Special Precautions:
– If any adverse reaction occurs stop taking this product and contact your healthcare professional.
– Patients taking any other medication should consult their healthcare professional before taking any complementary medicine. When starting any new medication always tell your healthcare professional if you are taking any complementary medicine.
– If you suffer from any serious ailments or conditions (such as cirrhosis of the liver); or if you are taking any prescribed medication, please check with your healthcare professional before taking this medicine.
– Milk Thistle may decrease blood sugar levels and people with diabetes must monitor sugar levels more often. No studies on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed. Please exercise care when driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Porphyria: Safety has not been established.
– Patients who have been diagnosed with a hormone sensitive condition should use Milk Thistle with caution due to Milk Thistle’s estrogenic effects.

Interactions:
– Milk thistle may interfere with the way the body processes certain drugs. As a result, the levels of these drugs may be altered in the blood and may cause decreased efficacy or potentially serious adverse reactions. Milk Thistle may interact with certain medicines such as those processed by the liver, anticoagulant or platelet aggregation inhibitor medications, antidiabetic agents, estrogens or hormonal agents, and agents that undergo glucuronidation.

Pregnancy And Lactation:
– You should not take Milk Thistle if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Side Effects:
– Nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, flatulence, constipation, laxative effect, dyspepsia. Urticaria, eczema, skin rash, anaphylaxis, pruritus, pitting, oedema. tremor. If you experience any untoward effects while taking this medicine, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare provider for advice.

Overdosage And Particulars of Treatment:
– In the event of overdosage consult your healthcare professional or hospital. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

Presentation: 60 capsules in a white container with pink cap and a protective seal.

Storage Instructions: Store in a cool, dry place below 25 C. Keep container well-closed. Protect from light.
