Red Yeast Rice / Red Monacolin Rice.
Red Rice is the product of a red monascus purpureus grown on white rice. It is a dietary staple in Asia where people consume about 50g per meal. Red Rice products contain monacolin K, which is chemically identical to the active ingredient in the cholesterol-lowering drug mevinolin.
Globe Artichoke.
Researchers have found that an over-the-counter Artichoke Leaf Extract (ALE) from the globe artichoke plant can lower cholesterol in otherwise healthy individuals. Cardiovascular diseases are the chief cause of death in many countries and are associated with raised circulating levels of total cholesterol in the plasma. Globe artichoke may be used to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases without the need for drugs.
Black Garlic.
Black garlic can lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, which in turn reduces your risk of heart disease. Many studies show that the antioxidant properties of black garlic can help to fight against cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Basil.
The eugenol in basil can block calcium channels, which may help to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides.
Shiitake mushrooms.
Shiitake mushrooms are probably one of the only adaptogenic mushrooms that you can find in your local supermarket or grocers. Apart from the fact that they are a rich source of Vitamin D, Zinc and essential B vitamins, they have been shown to boost the immune system and promote cardiovascular health. Shiitake mushrooms contain eritadenine, a compound known to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood. They also contain beta-glucans that reduce inflammation and help prevent the intestines from absorbing cholesterol.
Aloe Ferox.
A study in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology showed that aloe could significantly reduce LDL bad cholesterol levels and triglycerides. It also boosted HDL good cholesterol.
QUESTIONS and ANSWERS.
Question? Will red rice cause the same side effects as statins?
Answer:
Red Rice is natural food. Prescription drugs are chemicals – designed to change the chemical balance in the body. By changing the chemical balance, it creates a temporary illusion of healing.
The human body knows how to process foods, but it does not know to process chemicals. It is hard to overdose on natural foods, such as apples. If you eat too many apples, the body will simply excrete the excess. If you drink too much of a prescription drug, that chemical reaction will take place, no matter what. The body does not know how to stop a chemical reaction once the compounds are in the body. Therefore prescription drugs can have side effects and it is possible to overdose. If you take red rice with prescription drugs, it is possible that the rice can correct the error in the body, making the prescription drugs unnecessary. If you drink prescription drugs after that, you may have overdose symptoms.
Red Rice is a food – consumed in large quantities by Eastern people. Our rice is tested to contain 0.4% monacolin. Some people have reported muscle pains after using excessive amounts.
Why should I use red rice rather than prescription drugs?
Red Rice is a fermented food, rich in probiotics. It is beneficial to the digestive system, on top of reducing cholesterol. Prescription drugs are chemicals and destructive to the digestive system.
