Medicine: Potassium iodide is used to treat thyroid disorders, such as hypothyroidism and goiter. It is also used to protect the thyroid gland from radioactive iodine exposure.
Food: Potassium iodide is used as a food additive, such as in table salt and bread. It is also used in some dietary supplements.
Industry: Potassium iodide is used in a variety of industrial applications, such as photography, X-ray imaging, and the production of dyes and pigments.

Please note that potassium iodide is not suitable for use in pets without the guidance and supervision of a veterinarian.
