Swahili Natural gravel mix is for decorative purposes used mainly in Aquariums. The gravel is non-toxic and can be used in any fresh water aquarium. Appearance is one of the main reasons for gravel, depending on your taste various colours can be used. Naturally occurring organisms will grow on the rocky substrate and will help keep your tank clean as they eat the fish waste. When recreating a natural environment, gravel is a good choice. Gravel can make the fish feel more at home and it doesn’t reflect on the fish, as glass would. All types of burrowing fish enjoys nosing around in the gravel to search for food that has descended to the bottom. Eggs will also be hidden among the gravel.
