Emulsifying Wax is an essential ingredient used for making lotions, creams and other cosmetic products. Our emulsifier is a plant derived blend of Cetearyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Lotions and creams are created from a mixture of water and oil and our Emulsifying Wax can effectively bind both water and oils resulting in a stable creamy product. The oil remains mixed with the water, the wax helps the oil penetrate the skin, thereby replacing lost moisture.
For best results, use levels of Emulsifying Wax between 3 – 6% of the total weight of your recipe, the more wax you add the thicker the product you get. The emulsifier should be melted together with the oil phase of your recipe.
This product is white to off-white in colour; the form is waxy pastilles or dry flakes (form does not affect product performance and composition) and it is low in odour.
It is recommended to use the emulsifier in combination with other co-emulsifiers like Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol and Stearic Acid.
