The Aqara Smart Pet Feeder C1 is not just an ordinary pet feeder with a scheduling function: it is smart, it always stays connected to your smart home system via Zigbee, runs local automations, and acts as a Zigbee signal repeater.
Users can feed their pets at scheduled times and in specific portions via the Aqara app no matter where they are in the world.

Optional Battery Backup and Local Automations:
Apart from powering from USB-A port, the Pet Feeder C1 supports an optional D-type (LR20) battery backup. In contrast to other feeders, it stays connected even when powered from batteries! Also, compared to competition, the C1 will keep feeding according to the schedule even after the hub or internet connection goes down.
Zigbee Repeater (Router):
The Pet Feeder C1 can reinforce your Zigbee network by acting as a repeater. Remote Aqara Zigbee devices that sometimes could not reach the hub will reconnect to it automatically.
4L Food Tank for Small and Medium Pets:
A large 4-liter (16 cup) food tank that is suitable for both cats and dogs until 15 kg can incorporate around 1.7 kg (3.7 lbs) of typical pet food, which results in up to a month of feeding a 4 kg (9 lbs) cat.

AUTOMATIONS:
1. The camera will check if your pet has eaten the food that was dispensed

IF Food was dispensed
THEN Turn the camera to the feeder, mark this event on the video timeline, and continue monitoring the room
When the food is dispensed, the camera will turn to the Pet Feeder C1 automatically, record a video and mark it on the video timeline. This will help you to check if your pet has eaten the food.

Use the Pet Feeder C1 in HomeKit automations!

Although pet feeders are not supported within HomeKit, you will be able to use the C1 in HomeKit automations. To use it, you will have to connect it to the Hub M1S and configure the following automation in Aqara Home: “IF M1S Hub brightness is 1%, THEN Pet Feeder dispenses the food”. Then, in HomeKit, use the M1S Hub brightness is 1% as the action triggered by other devices: the Pet Feeder will dispense the food immediately.

Similarly, you can configure more HomeKit automations controlling other functions of Pet Feeder C1 or other Aqara devices.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Warnings:
1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
4. It must only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appliance.

Preparation Before Use
1. A smartphone or a tablet (with iOS or Android system) that can be connected to Wi-Fi or cellular network.
2. An Aqara hub that supports Zigbee 3.0.
3. 5V1A USB-A power supply such as a wall outlet or charging adapter.
4. Scan the QR code in the instruction manual to download the Aqara Home app, or search “Aqara Home” in your app store.
5. Take the desiccant out of the plastic bag and put it into the desiccator slot in the lid.
6. Pour the dry pet food into the food bucket.

*Note:
1. Particle diameter of dry pet food should be limited within 2-12mm.
2. This product is designed for pet cats and small and medium-sized dogs aged three months and older.
3. The smart pet feeder can only store dry food. It cannot store wet food or mixing wet and dry food.
4. It is recommended to place the feeder against the wall and away from tables, chairs and other furniture to reduce the risk of the feeder being knocked over by the pet.

Device Binding & Initialization
1. This product requires an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub. Please add the hub to the app according to the corresponding manual.
2. Click “+” in the upper right corner of the home page in the app to enter the “Add Accessory” page. Select “Smart Pet Feeder C1” and the hub to be connected, and follow the instructions on the app. Hold the reset button for 5 seconds, and then the hub will be connected.

Device Setting
Click the “…” in the upper right corner in the home page of the device to adjust the settings of the feeding plan, child lock, etc.

Power Supply
1. Please use the adapter to supply power to the feeder under normal circumstances.
2. The Smart Pet Feeder C1 can also work with dry batteries. Please open the battery cover at the bottom and put in batteries. In case of any power failure, the batteries can ensure the power supply.
3. Dry batteries need to be purchased separately. Three D batteries (LR20 alkaline batteries) are required.
4. When the device is powered by dry batteries, the indicator light will stay off to save energy, but other functions still work as usual.

*Note:
1. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.
2. Insert batteries in the correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
3. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
4. Waste batteries should be recycled in line with the local laws and
regulations. Do not dispose of them at will to avoid pollution. 5. If the appliance is to be stored unused for a long period, the batteries should be removed.
6. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
7. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the appliance and safely disposed of.

Food Bucket Cleaning
Press the clips on both sides of the food bucket, and you can take it out to clean.
Note: please do not rinse the lower part of the device to avoid any device failure.

Button Operations
Operation / Steps
Feed once:
Click the feed button, and the feeder will give a portion of food once. The number of portions can be set in the app.
Note: one portion weighs about 6-10g, which varies with the size of the food particles. Please set the number of portions for every feeding according to your pets' habits and the actual weight of one portion.

Voice recording:
Press and hold the voice record button, and recording will start after a “beep” sound. Press and hold the button until you finish the recording, and then you will hear “beep, beep” to mark the completion of recording.

Check the binding state:
Click the reset button. If the indicator light flashes in blue three times, the device is connected to the network.
If the indicator light turns red for about 1 second, the device is not connected to the network.

The device is restored to factory settings & configures network:
Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until the indicator light turns blue and flashes continuously:
the device is restored to factory settings and is configuring network.
The configuration status will last for 30 seconds, and in this period:
a. If the user completes network configuration for the device successfully via the Aqara Home app, the indicator will stop flashing.
b. If the configuration fails, the red indicator will flash shortly and then stop.
c. If there are no other operations, the indicator will be off after 30 seconds and network access will end.
