Berberine is an alkaloid present in a number of plants. Its history dates back 3 000 years, when it was used in traditional Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicine, yet today it has fast become one of the most researched plant extracts and remains in the scientific spotlight.

Whilst berberine has a series of benefits, one of its most significant benefits relates to metabolic syndrome conditions. This is because berberine is one of the few compounds known to activate AMPK, which is an enzyme inside your body s cells, and is sometimes called a metabolic master switch because it plays an important role in regulating metabolism. The unique way in which berberine acts on the body makes it a useful botanical for the support of blood sugar balance.

Studies indicate that berberine works via multiple mechanisms, including decreasing insulin resistance, making the insulin hormone that lowers your blood sugar work more effectively. In every capsule of Bio-Berberine Complex, the benefits of berberine are further enhanced by 25 mg of Origine 8 – a highly bioavailable, liposome-infused, polyphenol-rich green tea extract – and 25 g chromium, an essential trace mineral that can improve insulin sensitivity and enhance protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.

INGREDIENTS:

Each capsule contains: Berberine HCL 500 mg [obtained from Berberis aristata DC. (tree turmeric) root extract];

Origine 8 Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze (green tea) 25 mg (leaves; 15 mg green tea 4:1 extract standardised to contain 6 mg EGCG and providing 60 mg of dried herb equivalent and with 10 mg phosphatidylcholine complex from the liposomal bilayer);

Chromium polynicotinate 208 g equivalent to elemental chromium 25 g

CONTAINS CAFFEINE: Contains 1 mg caffeine per capsule.

The other ingredients are silica and Organic Nu-Rice in a clear vegetable capsule.

Contains no known allergens, no sugar or gluten, no artificial flavours or preservatives.

SUPPLEMENT FACTS:

Indications: May support glucose metabolism and healthy blood sugar levels as well as cardiovascular and gastrointestinal health.

Recommended use: Adults: The daily dose is 1 capsule 2 to 3 times daily shortly before or with meals with a glass of water. The maximum daily dose is 3 capsules (one directly before or with each main meal).

Users should be advised not to exceed the maximum daily dose of 1 575 mg (3 capsules).

Capsules should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of fluid (at least 100 ml).
