Decathlon – Bike Chain Cleaner

This chain cleaner will remove all residue from your chain. Remember to rinse and dry your chain for optimum results.

Ease of use:
– Using the chain cleaner is quick and easy, and becomes a real pleasure.

How to use this product:
– Press the push button on the bottom compartment while pulling on the top part with the other hand.

– Place the chain between the two parts of the cleaner and close them by fitting the top part into the bottom part.

– Install the hook on your derailleur hanger.

– Pour the degreaser through the hole at the top, observing the recommended level (around 9 ml).

– Clean your chain by turning the pedals anti-clockwise.

For optimal results:
– Leave for a few minutes. Complete the degreasing process with a few turns of the pedals.

– Remove your chain cleaner.

– We recommend that you rinse and dry your chain thoroughly before applying any lubricant.

– To ensure that your chain cleaner works at its best, it is important to position your bike (on the ground or on a stand) so that your chain is as horizontal as possible.

How much degreaser should you use?
– This chain cleaner has been designed to give you good efficiency while using much less product than its predecessor.

– The previous model required 45 ml, whereas this one only needs 9 ml. So, with a 500 ml canister you can do about 55 cleans (compared to about 15 with the previous one).

Maintenance advice:
– After use, to maintain its effectiveness, remove the foam from the chain cleaner (located on the front), rinse and wring out.

– Rinse the castors and compartments with clean water, leave to dry and wipe.

– The foam will certainly be marked by the passage of the chain over the first few uses, which will in no way detract from its usefulness.

Tip from the pros:
– Use the vegetable chain degreaser for greater efficiency.

– Renew your degreaser as soon as it is blackened.

– Collect your used degreaser and dispose of it at a waste disposal centre.
