An Introduction to Classic England Rugby T-Shirt
The Classic England Rugby T-ShirtTriple Blue Navy is inspired by the great England winger Cyril Nelson Kit Lowe.
The legendary former England Captain Wavell Wakefield described Cyril Lowe as follows:
An exceptionally fine wing because of his speed, his initiative, but above all else because of his determination which largely made him so formidable both in attack and defence.
He was born in Holbeach, Lincolnshire in 1891. Cyril Nelson Lowe was schooledat Dulwich College and he excelled at swimming, cricket, boxing and rugby.
Furthermore, in1909 he was one of five future international rugby players playing for Dulwich. These were Eric Loudoun-Shandand Grahame Donald who both went on to play for Scotland. W. D. Doherty who went on to play for and captain Ireland. J. E.Greenwood who went on to play for and captain England and Cyril Lowe himself. Needless to say, the Dulwich school XV went through the season unbeaten.
Cyril Lowe was only relatively small, at only 5 6 when turning out on the wing for Cambridge University and Blackheath. His school nickname was Titch, but his lack of height did not diminish him as a player. His speed, elusive-running, dangerous cross-field kicking, tackling and try-scoring ability marked him out from an early age.
He earned blues for Cambridge University in 1911, 1912 and 1913 making him a rare Triple-Blue.
